Vhusiku Vhutswu (written in Tshivenda, meaning ‘Darkest Night’) is set in a rural village in South Africa. Vusani Kwinda is sixteen and goes missing and is later found dead in a field. The killer preys on poor young girls in the community by luring them with gifts and his wealthier lifestyle.
The girls he preys on fall for his charms and don’t see the hatred and the darkness in his motives until it’s too late.
The novel reads like a murder mystery and is filled with suspense.
